Another international classic, often blended with Cabernet Sauvignon (especially Bordeaux).  Red fruit - raspberry and plum, with hints (from the oak) of toast, coffee vanilla and nuttiness.  Medium body and acidity, low to medium tannin. From hotter climate it can produce more black fruit, baked fruit and jammy flavours.
