Torrontes Grape Variety
This is the main white grape of Argentina. It is fragrant, high in acidity and intruigingly aromatic; reminiscent of, but different from, Muscat. Torrontes is particularly well adapted to the arid growing conditions of Argentina, especially the high sandy vineyards of Cafayate where, at altitudes of over 5,250 ft, its high natural acidity and assertive flavour are particularly distinguished.
