The area is known as Humanao which is near Molinos and Colome in the province of Salta. The first vines were planted in the area in the early 1800's.
The variety of the grapes has, as yet, not been established by ampelographers. The vines are the descendants of early plants brought to the area (including Colome) by early settlers in the early 1800's. Those customers who have tasted the "Colome" wine which was introduced to the UK by Pampas Wines some years ago, will recall the intensity of this "jewel in the rough". We can now present you with the "polished jewel".
