This is the main white grape of Argentina. It is fragrant, high in acidity and intruigingly aromatic; reminiscent of, but different from, Muscat. Torrontes is particularly well adapted to the arid growing conditions of Argentina, excelling in the high altitudes of the northern Salta region. Mendoza, San Juan and La Rioja areas are also known for their fine Torrontés.
