Vicien Malbec Reserve 2014

Born from the cold nights and the high mountain air of the Fiambala Valley in Catamarca, Carlos Arizu's Malbec Reserve speaks of both the bold terroir of Argentina and his dedication to winemaking. Grapes are hand-picked and held in oak barrels for 9 months, then racked but, crucially, not filtered. The result is what Carlos Arizu calls 'a mouthful of wine': a rich, full-bodied affair which truly does fill the mouth with silky smooth tannins and the flavours of firm red fruits, coffee, and wood. It's a sensation which continues on the tongue long after the first sip and will have you coming back for more. It is one of the finest Malbecs coming out of Argentina, and a particularly good year. It will cellar for several years, but we advise pulling the cork now, simply on the grounds of it being so impressive. PLEASE NOTE: We have only a limited supply of Vicien wines, and as such are operating on a 'first come, first serve' basis. Buy now to avoid an empty glass or a vacant space in the cellar!
