Vibrant, full-bodied, and beautifully structured, the Calathus Gran Reserve 2017 is a Malbec that's been perfectly calibrated to show off the nuances of the grape. Rich but not as dense as many Argentinian Malbecs, it's brimming with more playful flavours than the traditional hefty dark and black fruits.
On the nose there's the rich aromas of leather, salted licorice, raspberry, and crème anglaise, giving way to flavours of crisp red apples, watermelon, strawberries, and sherbet in the mouth. A wonderfully rounded wine, it is a grand representation of Argentinian winemaking skill, and a worthy successor to our wildly popular Calathus Gran Reserve Malbec 2013.
