Vicien Bonarda Reserve 2014

The Bonarda grape was introduced to Cabernet de los Andes' 'Las Retamas' Ranch early in the last century, and has since thrived in the cold mountain air of the Fiambala Valley (5249 feet above sea level). A magnificently rounded wine, the Vicien Bonarda Reserve of 2014 fills the mouth with flavours of ripe red & black fruits, Earl Grey tea, and vanilla. It's full-bodied yet is fresh on the palette, with a smooth and mellow finish that lingers pleasantly on the tongue. Fans of Malbec will find much to love in the Bonarda, a greatly underrated grape. The Vicien Bonarda Reserve will drink beautifully now, or can be cellared to improve structure even more.

Vicien - Cabernet de los Andes

Cabernet de los Andes SA was started in the year 2,000 by Pedro Vicien and Carlos Arizu with the aim of producing organic and biodynamic wine in the Valley of Fiambalá, Catamarca, in the north-west of Argentina. Situated at altitudes between 5,000 and 6,000 feet, Fiambalá is characterised by dry, hot days and cold nights. This gives a lot of fruit flavour and preserves the natural acidity of the grapes.

We are delighted to introduce you to the Plenilunio and Vicien wines from Cabernet de los Andes.
